Blog Marketing: The Eight Keys To Successful Blog Marketing Using DeskPing
Blog marketing is one of the great marketing channels available today. However to do it successfully you need to remember these eight keys.
1. Your Business Blog Should Read Like A Book, Not A Diary
Your personal blog can read anyway you desire, but a business blog should not contain any spontaneous thoughts and feelings. On the other hand if you look at your blog like you would a book, then your #1 focus will be to create a best seller.
Guy Kawasaski (The original Apple Evangelist, author of “The Art Of The Start“, and Chief Blogger at Truemors) says it this way “If you want to evangelize your blog, think of it as a product you’re trying to sell and market the heck out of it.”
2. Focus 100% On Adding Value
Every time you start to post on your blog ask yourself the following questions; “Is it fresh?? Who will read it? Does it matter? Does it ad value for the reader? If you don;t have an answer to just one of these questions, then stop writing until you can answer them all.
3. Promote via DeskPing’s Desktop Communicator and Your Email Newsletter
With the continued influx of spam email, it is easy for people to delete your email, so to make sure your blog post is getting read, use a macro-marketing approach and send a PingNote to your database via the deskPing Communicator.
4. Use Your Blog Link On Your MySpace or Facebook
When you write a short blog entry on your MySpace profile sign it using your blog link. This will allow others to learn about your blog. Also use it when you comment on your friend’s MySpace profile.
5. Use Supplemental Posts
Don’t try and write fresh content daily. When you are reading other peoples blogs and find something that is rock solid, then write about it on your blog and post to the article. This will allow others to know their blog is being read, and that someone found value in what they wrote.
6. Reward Your Commenters
Everyone loves to be recognized and respected. When a person comments on your blog, send them a thank you for taking time to comment. When a person feels recognized they will tell others and before you know it your daily count has doubled.
7. Use Video
You want to be bold and let people really know you are an expert at what you are talking about. Although words are strong, video is the most powerful. Using DeskPing’s video engine allows you to encode, host and stream your video in one smooth movement allows your readers to connect emotionally with you.
8. Make It Simple for Others to Subscribe To Your Blog
The goal is to get subscribers who will read, comment and share your blog with others. So do not make it hard for them to join.
Now if you are not yet a DeskPing Blog subscriber, then take a few minutes and subscribe.
And while you are at it, go over to DeskPing and take a Test Drive and see how we can add sizzle to your blog.
