Today my article will teach you about the various methods in shooting and editing the videos you create for your MLM Video Marketing Campaign.

I’ll cover the most popular media equipment, and a few of the common software programs you can use in creating your videos.

So let’s get down to business. The different methods I will cover are camcorder, digital camera, web cam, screen capture software, and cell phones.

Camcorders

You will soon find that a digital camcorder is a must if you are serious about creating a professional and long term MLM video Marketing Campaign. Camcorders give you the best quality and most professional finished video production of all the methods available outside of going to a production
studio and shooting your video.

Now with so many camcorders available today, you will find that each has a slightly different tweaking you will need to learn, so I am not going into detail on which to buy. However I can direct you to B & H Video Gear. I have been using B & H since I ran ProSTEP a few years ago, and I have found they are the best dealers in the business.

One of the benefits of a digital camcorder is you can upload your videos right to your computer for editing and posting to your DeskPing Account, or to one of your social media profiles.

You will find that Digital camcorders can run from the fairly inexpensive to tens of thousands of dollars. I suggest starting small then working up to a professional camcorder.

Digital Cameras

Most digital cameras today come with video recording features. But be careful to check and make sure the one you pick records audio as well. If you find you have bought a digital camera that does not record audio you will have to do a voice over or at the very least insert some text over your video.

Although most digital cameras will not record video in as good of quality as a camcorder, you will find that starting out they will do just find for your MLM Video Marketing Campaign. I use one Paige picked up for me at Target for around $150.00.

Web Cam

Web cams are by far the most popular and one of the cheapest ways to get your sexy face onto the web. But not always is cheapest the best way to go. I do have a web cam hooked up to my computer, and at DeskPing we do allow you to record using your Web Cam. But in the long run you will want to do one of two things. Buy a really good Web Cam or go with one of the top two choices for top quality videos.

Web Cams have their place, and are a good way for you to get started in shooting your videos. But I would not suggest using a Web Cam created video on your lead capture page. First impressions can make or break your MLM video marketing campaign. So you need to think like your MLM prospects. If you are not impressed with the quality, your prospects will not be impressed either.

Screen Capture Software

Screen capture software has caught on as one of the most popular ways to make your videos. Screen capture software is relatively easy to use and runs $299.00 if you happen to buy Camtasia.

The benefit of screen capture software is it allows you to easily record anything that is viewable on your computer screen. So instead of just shooting a video, of yourself, you can now create videos, with pictures, websites, software, etc. and use your own voice in the narration. This type of video (narration or instructional) can be very powerful if used the right way. I used Camtasia exclusively when I created the training at DeskPing.

Any Screen Capture Software is great for demonstrating software and making instructional (how-to) videos. It’s perfect for showing your prospects and clients how your product and services works and the results of them can be extremely powerful.

Now as an added bonus for all of you who are still with me. I want to give you a bonus.

Cell Phone

Among Gen-Xers (yes I am at the top end of this demographic group) and Millenniums (who I have raised 6) this has become the equipment of choice for shooting videos on the fly.

In the early days of Social Video Sites, like YouTube, cell phones were the main source of the videos you would see.

The quality of your video will most likely not be as good as most of the other above mentioned ways. But here is an example of one of my boys cell phones videos. He shot this for me at DeskPing.

Cell Phones are very convenient, not to mention it’s with you wherever you go. It gives you the ability to shoot video clips on the fly, which can be great inserts into a bigger video.

The other great thing about Cell Phones is you can upload your videos to your DeskPing master video account or just about any other social video site.

Next time you go on a trip use your cell phone to shoot clips and place them on your blog.

Troy’s Tip: Don’t use your Cell Phone to record anything with great detail.
